Administrators,

Earlier this week, the University Interscholastic League (UIL met for their Fall meetings. At that meeting, a proposal was made to restrict Foreign Exchange students from participating in extracurricular activities at the varsity level. The legislative council approved that recommendation to be submitted to the commissioner of education for final review and approval.

We have fielded several inquiries as to TAPPS position on international students (those who are not citizens of the United States). At this time, Section 102 governs those students’ participation in all TAPPS activities. The TAPPS Executive Board will review international student participation in January as part of their overall eligibility analysis.  At this time, no proposal similar to the UIL has been presented.

If you have questions please contact the TAPPS office at [email protected] or 254-947-9268.
