Directors and Coaches:

As we move toward the 2026-27 school year, TAPPS continues to review all of our events and student opportunities. Esports is one event that will require changes in 2026-27 and for the foreseeable future.

As a matter of history, TAPPS began our Esports adventure with PlayVS eight years ago as they were the preeminent scholastic platform for Esports. Their model was a pay-for-play model that provided mentorship and communication opportunities in addition to recording scores and standings.

At the end of that initial contract TAPPS moved to the Vanta platform in response to concerns voiced by member schools. The Vanta platform is a sponsor-funded model which worked well until this past January. In January of 2026 Vanta was acquired by PlayVS and added to its platform prior to notifying or negotiating with TAPPS. Our spring leagues were hosted by PlayVS in the final season of our contract with Vanta.  In all transparency, the relationship provided struggles for our schools and staff through the spring season.

As many of you have seen in communication from PlayVS, they are returning to a pay for play model for the fall and spring seasons for the foreseeable future. TAPPS is presently negotiating with a new provider and reviewing our in house options for the coming 2026-27 seasons. We will have more information coming soon, but PlayVS will not be our hosted solution moving forward.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to our new platform and roll out your options in TAPPS.  Our board and staff continue to support Esports as an option for our students moving forward. More to come shortly.
