After last year’s weather, it was great to have two fantastic days to compete. While practice rounds were interrupted by storms on Sunday, the tournament weather was exceptional for the tournament. We are proud of all of our student athletes who competed against the course and the field.

The championship brought together programs from across Texas, with schools traveling to Glen Rose from areas including Lubbock, Beaumont and Laredo. According to the event summary, the first-day scores set the tone for one of the more competitive championships in the division, and the final standings reflected that depth, particularly in the boys field, where only 10 strokes separated first-place Midland Christian from third-place Monsignor Kelly.

Other boys standouts included Levi Fisher of Trinity Christian School, who tied for fifth at 141, Christopher Torn of Second Baptist School in seventh at 142, Cullen Jerke of Regents School of Austin in eighth at 143, and Reece Williams and Quintin Frost, who shared ninth at 144 for Monsignor Kelly and The Woodlands Christian Academy, respectively. In the girls standings, Peyton Kirkland of Trinity Christian School and Scarlett Bedford of All Saints Episcopal School tied for sixth at 156, while Addison Trahan of Lutheran South Academy and Bella Hagan of Frassati Catholic High School shared eighth at 157. Addi Wright of Midland Christian rounded out the girls top 10 at 160.

The event was held in favorable conditions at Glen Rose, with organizers noting great weather for the championship. Those steady conditions helped produce low scores at the top of both leaderboards, most notably Wilson’s 136 and Louie’s 137, as Midland Christian and San Antonio Christian turned consistent rounds across their lineups into TAPPS 5A team championships.
